Crafty Secrets - O Christmas Tree

Just to let you know they are having a sale over at Crafty Secrets and you can read about it here. I used an image and chipboard from the Christmas Vintage Postcard Kit for my card today.

I then added a few extras - Flower Soft for the tree and its snow, mica flakes for the snow on the ground, Gelly Roll pens for the red and white berries and then a few tiny baby pine cones for the background trees. I edged the image with PTI's Fresh Snow Ink and it was mounted on papers from Memory Box's Dewfrost Collection. Next I added some silk ribbon, lace, and buttons and my project was completed. I am glad to say I now have one more Christmas card finished for this year! Thanks for stopping by and I hope at the end of your day you can feel the satisfaction of completing at least one thing that was on your list of things to do!

A Gift for You

I'm back again with another Christmas project. I used Basic Grey's Wassail to cover the front of a plain white gift bag and added some velvet ribbon and lace.

Last year I read a tutorial by Debbie Olson on how to make a poinsettia using Tim Holtz's Tattered Flowers die. Since then I have always wanted to give this a try this so this project gave me the perfect opportunity. The flower was stamped using Our Daily Bread Design's Joy to The World Hymn with PTI's Fresh Snow Ink and the edges were inked with Photo Vintage. The center was made with two Cuttlebug die glittered snowflakes. A simple project to dress up a plain gift bag. Don't you just love simple? Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a joy filled day!

Cup of Cocoa

I'm now in the process of working on some special Christmas cards for people who have graciously helped our family in the care of my husband's mom. She has dementia and lives with us. She cannot be left alone and is very limited in her abilities. Grandma loves to be with people and there are a group of friends from church who come and spend time with her when we need an extra hand and these caring people will be the receiving the cards you see here on my blog this holiday season. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are able to experience the love and joy of friendship today!

Joy to the World

Now that Thanksgiving is over I can start thinking about Christmas. I'm at the point in life where I can only think about one holiday at a time! In fact, this is working ahead for me - I 'm usually taking one day at a time : ) When I saw this Pure Innocence stamp I knew I had to get it because it brought back precious memories of our girls when they were younger. Thanks for stopping by and I hope in the busy days ahead you are able to stop and remember the precious things in your life!

Be Still

Sometimes in life we just can't make sense of why things happen the way they do. When those times occur in my life this verse gives my heart great comfort because it reminds me first of my need to be still and secondly that My Heavenly Father is on His throne and that He is perfect in all of His ways. It causes my heart to be grateful despite my circumstances. There is a great devotional on Thankfulness at Stampin' Sister's in Christ if this topic is of interest to you. Thanks for stopping by and may you find time to stop and be still.

Bless You

I wanted to make some Thankful cards and when I saw this little gal from MFT I knew she would be the perfect for the job! I am on a mission to try and use the stock I have on hand and it feels good! Yes, I am a former hoarder - it was either just too pretty to use or I might not be able to get it again. And no I don't want to enter the arena of how much paper or how many embellishments I have on hand that does not seem so lovely because I waited too long. So now my motto is buy and use and when I buy - buy with a purpose not just because it is on sale! Thanks for stopping buy -oops I mean by : ) Have a Great Day!

Keep on Knitting

Our third daughter needed a card for a friend who enjoys knitting so I used Hand Knit by SU! and paired it with October Afternoon's Fly a Kite. Then I added some lace and a flower and I was finished. Nothing fancy but I enjoy the sweet and simple as much as I do the cards and projects with all of little extras. Thanks for coming by and I hope you are able to enjoy the simple things today!

Happy Birthday Princess

Yes I am back again! Our second daughter is going to be turning 20 next week so I decided to make our little princess none other than a princess card. It is based off of MFTWSC 44. I used MFT 's Something Special Just For You and some K & Co. paper. I used two types of paper for the grass to add extra dimension and color. My husband and I went to Dollar Deals and bought the fixings for a Princess Party so she and her suite mates can celebrate at school. It was so fun - brought back lots of sweet memories. If time allows I'm thinking about making tutus for the girls out of some netting to include in the birthday box. Why not we already have the wands, jewelry, and fixings for DIY crowns! I'm so grateful the Lord has given our daughter friends who still know how to enjoy the silly things in life. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a day that makes like royalty!
