One Amazing Friend

The world of crafters is filled with some of the kindest folks I know. I recently was in need of a birthday card for my son's friend. So I went to one of my tried and true sets Super from Paper Smooches. As I searched for new ideas I came across this wonderful card by Kara! I had some questions for Kara and she was so gracious and helpful. She also gave me her permission to share this CASE of her card with you. The banner was made on the Silhouette. I didn't have a sentiment to fit it. so I took one of my photopolymer stamps and snipped away and was able to come up with the words I needed and then fit it into the shape of the banner. I know you can print and cut with the Silhouette but I am new to this gadget and I was having a hard time getting it to center. I guess that's another good reason for me to sign up for the next Silhouette class at  our local sewing store A Different Touch on March 8th!

I also made some of these into thank you cards! The picture below is what I did for the inside of these cards.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing day!

I needed to make a sympathy card. I thought of a card I had made this summer that was similar to this but it had more of a warm weather feel. It was on white cardstock with  different colored ink. So I thought I would try to switch out my colors and this is what I came up with. I used white pencil to color it. Thanks for coming by to visit and I hope you have a few moments of peace to enjoy today!

Teacher Valentine

Did you ever start a card and life happens and two weeks later there it sits on your craft table patiently waiting to be finished? I made this card based  on the sketch in Share the Joy Challenge #18  using Taylored Expressions Smarty Pants stamp set. I gave this card to our daughter and new son-in-law who are elementary school teachers. This little owl definitely looked like a guy  to me. I figured if you wanted it to make it more masculine you could just use straight edges but I thought since it was for Valentine's Day I could get away with it ; )
Thanks for taking the time to stop by  and may your day be filled with joy!

It's A Girl

Friends of ours had a baby girl and I needed a card. I love this PTI die for baby cards. All you need is some DP and embellishments and you are done!  I found this tiny lace trim at the sewing shop in the heirloom sewing section. It's a favorite!
Thanks for coming by and I hope you can enjoy one of your favorite things today : )

Hello Sunshine

A friend had given me a pad of heidi grace paper for my birthday last year and I finally took the plunge today and made some cards with it. I must confess I love to play with patterned paper. I used to keep it and admire it but I'm learning it's even more fun to use it! Plus now I have two more cards ready to send to someone who could us a little bit of love and encouragement!

Thanks for taking the time to come and visit!

Going Global

Our ladies Bible study was making Valentine's for the widows, widowers and shut-ins. I tried to keep the cards fairly simple because the group is new to stamping. We used the Stampin' Up! set Going Global which is great for guy cards. Inside it has the sentiment "You mean the world to me" so we crossed out the me and wrote us : ) Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an enjoyable weekend!
